Orange 67 REEDY CREEK www.rcid.org The Reedy Creek Improvement District and the cities of Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista were created by the Florida Legislature in 1967 to provide a full range of government services to the original 27,400-acre site that was to become the Walt Disney World Resort. The cities were given most powers common to other municipalities in the state, while the District was authorized to provide a full range of urban services, includeing the adoption of zoning the building codes.
